Dr. Tuinstra is the only person I trust working on my mouth. I am so relieved to have found him after going through several other dentists in Flagstaff. He cares. He listens. He explains procedures in way that make sense. Unlike other practices, where it feel like a business being sold unnecessary work and appliances, Dr. T takes makes it point to only do necessary work without any pressure. His staff are well trained and easy to work with too. Overall I've always walked away feeling like I am in good hands.
Dr. T is everything you could hope for in a dentist: highly skilled, fast, painless, and pleasant. His office is well-run. I feel very fortunate to have him as my dentist.

I’ve been nervous about finding a new dentist & hygienist for a year. Boy, did I hit the bullseye for the best dental practice I could want. From the dentist, Dr. Tuinstra to the hygienist Anna, I could not have had better treatment and care. Then there’s the office personnel. Talk about caring and warmth! They have it in spades. I hit the jackpot with High Country Family Dentistry. It’s such a relief to me now that I have this caliber of dental care. And since I’m a senior citizen, we come with lots of things that need understanding & extra care!
Dr. Tuinstra accommodated me quickly as a crown had come off. He was very professional and didn't mind that he had to come in even though their office was closed. Really appreciate his efforts! Looking forward to working with him in the future.

It was just about then that a friendly faced gentleman came into the room: “Hi, I’m Ryan”, and I thought, ‘You mean Dr. Ryan Tuinstra, DDS?’ Well, this sealed the deal – I had found my new dentist, and I did so on my first pick! Each visit to HCFD is a welcome experience. One can sense how much the staff enjoy working there and with each other. They have created an approachable, friendly and relaxing space. I found Anna, the hygienist, superbly skilled, communicative, and knowledgable and she made sure that I was comfortable throughout the visit.
I was called back right on time of my appointment, the dental hygienist, Anna was friendly and had reviewed my dental record prior.
I absolutely LOVE the High Country Family Dentistry team! I've had nothing but positive experiences with them, beginning from the initial visit/exam to deep cleanings. Really appreciate the team here at High Country! The hygienist noticed something on my gum and wanted to investigate and after xrays and Dr. Tuinstra also taking time to get 3d xrays and reviewing xrays from a few months back to compare. It all showed that they were genuinely concerned for my care and not just trying to get me in and out like some dentist offices. Very happy with my care here!

This is such a great place! You don't have to wait around to get started, everyone is very kind, and Dr. Tuinstra has been extra helpful with a few minor problems that I had with some fillings.

BIG FIVE STARS. Here's why: I've been procrastinating going to the dentist for many years and was nervous coming here. The building is more like a house and I immediately felt an at-home vibe. The front desk ladies were so incredibly welcoming and kind, I can't express this enough. I didn't wait long and was taken back and shown a short tour of the dentist office. It was immaculate. Everything was so clean and organized, better than any dentist or orthodontist office I've ever been to. My dental hygienist was amazing. She answered all of my questions with a smile and seemed excited that I was there. Then there is Dr. Tuinstra who understood my nervousness and communicated with me with care. He focused on my needs and wants for my smile and teeth and gave me great advice and a plan that works for me. He's not your typical dentist, doctor, guy with a PhD, etc. Least to say, High Country Family Dentistry is worth the wait (because they're busy people) and I recommend anyone reading this to book an appointment! Heck even use my name!

EveryOne is helpful & friendly, from front desk and right on through the visit with Dr Tuinstra, his dental assistant, & the hygienist! Dr Tuinstra did a thorough exam, took time to explain things completely, & listened to questions I had...left me feeling very much at ease and well cared for. Anna, [hygienist] also did an excellent job with great care & not feeling rushed through. This office is Awesome!!

I really love High Country Dentistry. Everyone is so nice. It is a good experience from the minute you walk in. The receptionists are lovely, my hygienist is really very personable but doesn’t talk to me when her hands are in my mouth so I can’t answer (some do)! Ryan was so sweet! I love them all.
Dr. Tuinstra recently took over the practice at High Country Family Dentistry, with the bulk of the staff remaining after Dr. Geisel's departure. I think all the staff are great and I am happy to go there and take my kids, too!

Wow!! I was went here to start my treatment because I didn’t want to use the VA dental anymore and just walking through the door was an environment that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. Walking through the door I was met with an welcome home environment in the air and they took me on a tour of the office met the dr and he immediately Shook my hand and welcomed me and April who was helping me out was very nice and sweet just like everyone else there. The dr did a very Thorough exam and took time out of his day to talk and make me feel comfortable and I didn’t leave there asking myself any questions. I’m very impressed with this dentist and his staff. I feel very lucky to be able to go here. Thank you everyone see you soon. Richard
I had a 4 hour visit today, for a crown, a filling and a cleaning.I am super happy with my crown especially, they made it right there in the office! The staff is wonderful, very kind and professional! Thank you Dr Geisel and team for a job well done!
